Travel and Tourism industry in India has emerged as one of the main sectors for the significant growth of Indian economy in recent years. The industry needs tour guides, supervisors and managers in travel agencies, airlines and in, government tourism departments.

Course Objectives
To impart in-depth knowledge in International and Indian Tourism.
To apply knowledge of relevant legislation for various sectors of tourism and travel operations.
To learn a wide range of communication skills to meet with the expectations of internal and external customers.
To receive a customer request, process booking, make reservations and complete all documentation.
Course Contents
The course is divided in to two parts, Theory and Practicals. There are six theory papers and four practical/assignments.
Theory:-
- Paper-I :World Travel Geography
- Paper- II :Travel Formalities
- Paper- III :Reservation Procedure and Fare Construction
- Paper- IV :Indian Tourism
- Paper-V :India’s Background of Art and Architecture, Religion and Social Structure
- Paper-VI :Organization and Management
Practicals:-
- Planning, Costing, Reporting and Evaluation of one tour of India
- Preparing a project on an itinerary of 21 days tour abroad in IATA Area.
- Internship (2 Months Summer Placement) in Travel Agency
- CRS (Computer Reservation System) Amadeus Software Packages

Admission Procedure
Admission forms will be available at the office of the Department of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension Work and on-line.
Graduates from any recognized University may apply.
Those who have appeared for final year examination of graduation and are waiting for results will be given provisional admission.
Selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of their performance in interview.
Interview dates will be informed to the eligible applicants individually.
Rules
- All theory and practicals are compulsory.
- Final examinations will be held in April.
- A minimum of 40% marks are essential to pass in a subject.
- Results of the students will not be declared unless they complete the course requirement i.e. internal assessment, projects, assignments and other submissions.
Additional Information
The course focuses on over all development of women students.
Modules on Life Skills Education, Personality Development and Communication Skills are in-built in the course work.
Assistance will be provided for job placement.
Hostel accommodation will be provided to limited outstation students.

Classes will commence from the first week of July.
